Overview

Buddha's Burgers & Hots and Catering, nestled at the security gate of 1600 Lexington Ave in Rochester, NY, offers a genuine taste of classic American hamburger fare with a welcoming neighborhood feel. This compact spot, housed in a quaint building with limited seating, caters mainly to those grabbing a satisfying meal on the go or enjoying an intimate, casual bite at one of the few available tables. Its location near local hubs makes it an ideal stop after work or community events.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly their burgers—especially the Buddha Burger, a hearty creation stacking three beef patties with cheese, ham, and bacon, complemented by customizable toppings like banana peppers and pickles. The patties are leaner than typical fast-food joints, bringing forward the flavor of the meat without overwhelming grease. Burger buns draw favorable comparisons to regional favorites such as Tom Wahl’s and Bill Gray's, lending each sandwich a familiar and satisfying texture.

Beyond burgers, breakfast offerings—served until 11 AM—showcase classics made with care, from sausage omelets to cinnamon-dusted French toast sticks. For those looking beyond standard fare, the Brita Tacos provide a flavorful twist worth exploring. Their sides and drinks, including reasonably priced sodas, round out a balanced, approachable menu.

Customers consistently praise the integrity and warmth of the service. Derrick Jones highlights the restaurant’s transparency about pricing and the consistent positive experiences both in dining and catering. Indeed, the catering service enjoys enthusiastic endorsements, making Buddha’s Burgers & Hots a trusted partner for events—a sentiment echoed by Myriam Lopez, who commends their flavorful, top-notch offerings. Orders through delivery platforms like DoorDash maintain the quality, with crispy fish fillets and well-seasoned fries making for a satisfying meal at home.

The restaurant embodying straightforward quality over flair: straightforward, honest food served with friendly professionalism. Its compact and functional space suits individuals, small groups, or those seeking takeaway. Whether stopping in for a robust burger after donating blood nearby or securing catering for a company event, Buddha's Burgers & Hots presents value in flavor, portion, and attitude. For lovers of classic American burgers and dependable local eats, this spot holds solid appeal that rewards repeat visits.

Alright, let’s set the record straight on this restaurant. Anyone questioning the owner’s integrity just doesn’t know the half of it. This place is all about positive vibes, fantastic service, and reasonable pricing. Now, they do have a note on the menu that pricing is subject to change, and sure, sometimes the menu isn't always updated right on the dot. But let’s be real: the value you get more than makes up for a minor price tweak here and there. I’ve had them cater events for me multiple times and it's been flawless. No shams, just an honest, fantastic spot.

Food is quite decent for the price. Burger rolls are great (just like Tom Wahl's or Bill Gray's). The burger patty is a typical patty. Be sure to request provolone over the American Cheese default. The sub roll is a little bready for my preference, but it is a typical sub shop roll. $1.50 for a soda is a great price at a restaurant.

Ok I dig this place. It is homed in an old gate check building at the entrance to this address. As you approach you will see the signs. It is very small. You walk in and will see the large menu board on the wall. To the left will be the register and the kitchen area. And to the right will be the 2 tables you can eat at if you wish and they are free. This is not a place to plan to sit down with a large group and eat. It seats maybe 8 people. And often people get their food to go. This shouldn’t stop you though. I came in after I donated blood up the street at the Local Police Union. I was hungry and wanted a big burger. On the board I see the Buddha Burger. This burger has 3 beef patties, three slices of cheese, a round ham slice similar to what you’d get on an egg McMuffin, and bacon. I added banana peppers, tomatoes, and pickles. The burger patties are not hidden behind a super high fat content which I love. If these burgers were 80/20 I’d be very surprised. It keeps the flavor of the meat without drowning it out in grease. I was worried that the burger taken to go with three patties would soak through the bun but it did not. When I got home I could see this thing was big. I opted to cut it in half to make eating it slightly easier. You can see the photos below. I enjoyed the burger and will be back sometime to try a plate. I bet they make a mean one.

Ordered off of doordash. Fish had nice breading with a nice crisp, just a tid bit salty for my taste. Fries were crispy and nicely seasoned as well. Overall good portion considering it comes with two fillets. Will be ordering again in the future.

Been a religious customer for a number of years now. The crew here always sends out great food for a decent price with daily specials that are at steal prices for 2025. There's a reason Buddhas has so many regulars the crew knows by name and I push people to try them out every chance I get!
